DPS Officer 1s are trainees that use their academy training as a foundation to acquire the remaining knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform law enforcement duties as DPS Officer 2. Upon successful graduation from a Nevada Commission on P.O.S.T. approved law enforcement academy will work under close supervision as a trainee within the agency to which assigned. 2.
