Mental Health Therapist

Mental Health TherapistWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated therapist to join a multidisciplinary behavioral health and substance use treatment team in Clovis, CA. The therapist will provide individual, group, and family counseling, conduct biopsychosocial assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and coordinate discharge and continuing-care services.This role is ideal for a behavioral health professional who is passionate about supporting individuals through addiction recovery, mental health treatment, and long-term wellness.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and identify patients' clinical needs.Develop person-centered treatment plans with measurable goals, objectives, and appropriate interventions.Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based practices.Monitor and document patient progress toward treatment goals.Prepare clinical summaries, treatment notes, transition notes, discharge plans, and discharge summaries.Participate in crisis intervention and respond appropriately to emergency situations.Coordinate referrals and continuing-care services to support successful transitions.Participate in weekly multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.Collaborate with medical, mental health, and other healthcare professionals.Assist with clinical utilization reviews by providing accurate and detailed clinical documentation.Provide appropriate treatment interventions based on individual patient needs.Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency requirements.Support patients with vocational counseling, resource development, and placement services when appropriate.Communicate with referring agencies, probation officers, attorneys, spouses, and family members as appropriate and authorized.Maintain professional ethics, confidentiality, client rights, and applicable legal and clinical standards.Promote cultural competency, patient safety, client satisfaction, and quality of care.Required QualificationsMaster's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited graduate school.Current California state license and/or applicable professional certification.Current BBS intern registration number or BBS-licensed number, as applicable.CPR/First Aid certification.Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.Ability to establish positive relationships with patients and families.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.Computer proficiency, including documentation and email systems.Preferred Qualifications1-2 years of experience in addiction, mental health, behavioral health, or related human services.Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.Experience with KIPU Systems or similar behavioral health client-management software.Experience providing crisis intervention and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.Work EnvironmentPrimarily based in a residential detox/behavioral health facility.Day and night shifts available.Work may involve stressful or emergency situations.Regular interaction with patients in office, residential, clinical, and recreational environments.Some duties may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, needles, infectious diseases, or illicit substances; appropriate safety and infection-control procedures must be followed.Physical & Other RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, sit, and navigate stairs regularly.Ability to lift and/or carry approximately 20-50 lbs and push/pull similar weights.Ability to participate in occasional walks, hikes, sports outings, and gym activities with clients.Ability to assist with facility-related activities such as meal preparation, cleaning, shopping, and other client-support duties as required.Ability to complete pre-employment requirements, including:Negative TB testMedical clearancePre-employment drug screeningCompensation & Benefits$70,304 - $90,000 annual salaryMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insurancePaid time offSick leave401(k) programEmployee Assistance ProgramFree legal consultation benefitsSupportive, multidisciplinary clinical environmentProfessional development and training opportunities
