Skillforce is seeking dependable and hardworking Skilled Laborers for a 3-week project in Sterling, VA. This contract role offers the opportunity to work alongside a respected contractor supporting maintenance operations on specialized cooling equipment used in large industrial facilities and data centers. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, have strong mechanical aptitude, and can follow detailed instructions while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. Skilled Laborers will work under the direction of a Lead Field Technician and assist with daily field operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Skilled Laborers Responsibilities:
- Assist with routine maintenance activities on outdoor industrial cooling equipment
- Spray and rinse condenser units with water to remove dirt, debris, and buildup
- Remove and replace air filtration components as directed
- Operate hand tools and basic maintenance equipment safely and effectively
- Follow instructions from the Lead Field Technician and established work procedures
- Support safe, efficient completion of daily project tasks
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Adhere to all site-specific safety requirements and company policies
- Report issues, delays, safety concerns, and submit accurate daily timekeeping (clock in/out) to the Lead Field Technician
Skilled Laborers Qualifications:
- Previous experience in general labor, HVAC, maintenance, construction, or similar hands-on work preferred
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn new processes quickly
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to use common hand tools safely and effectively
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
- Ability to pass a background check
- Required Certification OSHA 10 Certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
