DV Program Supervisor – Gender Based Violence Rapid Rehousing Job Category: Middle Management Requisition Number: DVPRO005363 Posted: July 6, 2026 Full‑Time Location Calumet, 235 E 103rd St, Chicago, IL 60628, USA Salary: $62,000 – $69,000 annually, based on skill and experience. Essential Job Functions Oversee a domestic violence advocacy program area and supervise its staff members. Plan, develop, and implement interventions that meet changing client needs. Assume responsibility for grant monitoring and reporting within the program area. Provide supervision, coaching, and support to program staff in crisis management, non‑violent communication, and conflict resolution skills. Promote a team‑oriented approach to positive interactions. In collaboration with the Program Director, hire, supervise, and evaluate staff, interns, and volunteers. Oversee scheduling and/or on‑call responsibilities of staff; rotate on‑call duties with other supervisors or staff. Administer assessments as appropriate and train staff in their use and interpretation. Assess and respond to survivors seeking supportive services with short‑term, strengths‑based interventions. Facilitate group supervision, team meetings, and program/agency meetings. Collaborate with departmental staff and other programs to provide comprehensive services for clients. Monitor contract, grant, and program expectations; ensure team members meet timelines and reporting requirements. Conduct program planning and make recommendations, including budget needs, to the DV Program Director. May carry a client caseload, providing short‑term, strengths‑based, trauma‑informed services to survivors and their children. Maintain awareness of current developments in the field of domestic violence. Attend workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities. Establish and maintain contact with local agencies, organizations, and partnering sites as appropriate. Represent Metropolitan Family Services and the domestic violence program professionally in the community. Provide services in accordance with the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professionals’ code of ethics. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong supervisory and administrative skills, including team building, reflective supervision, and grant management. Knowledge of community resources, advocacy and crisis intervention skills, and an understanding of trauma and trauma‑informed care. Empathic, non‑judgmental, service‑oriented attitude in work with clients. Recognize domestic violence survivors as the experts of their own lives and support staff in partnering with clients to identify and build upon strengths. Respond appropriately in varied situations and function with minimal supervision. Work and problem‑solve both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and mature judgment. Demonstrate self‑awareness, insight, and commitment to ongoing professional growth; model healthy boundaries and self‑care with clients and coworkers. Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and effectiveness in working with diverse populations. Accommodate a flexible work schedule, which may include some variable evenings and/or weekends. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience, including experience in domestic violence survivor services and other relevant services. Demonstrated increase in administrative/supervisory responsibilities over time. Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP) certification required by the end of the first year in the role. Master’s degree (for court programs) and three years’ experience in gender‑based violence and/or social services – preferred. Court/legal advocacy experience strongly preferred for supervisors of the Court Advocacy Programs – preferred. 40‑hour Domestic Violence training – preferred at time of hire. This training is required at first opportunity upon hire and must be completed before contact with DV program clients or their personally identifying information. Additional Requirements Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings and background checks. Transportation/Travel Requirements Driving for work required with personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites not required. Physical Demands Requires sitting and standing for sustained periods, frequent talking and hearing, use of hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls. Sometimes standing, bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Requires close visual acuity to prepare, analyze data, and use computer terminals.
