Director, AI Discoverability and Evidence Architecture

Merck

Director-level role establishing enterprise capabilities to ensure Merck's scientific evidence and digital content are discoverable and trusted across AI systems. Leads strategy, capability development, and cross-functional teams spanning AI Search Readiness, Generative Engine Optimization, and Evidence Architecture.

Responsibilities

Define long-term AI Discoverability and Search Readiness strategy with multi-year roadmap and governance model
Lead AI Search Readiness assessments and activate remediation plans across priority brands and therapeutic areas
Develop evidence architecture, ontology standards, and machine-readable content frameworks supporting AI retrieval
Build enterprise monitoring capabilities for AI visibility, citation quality, narrative accuracy, and competitive positioning
Recruit and lead distributed, high-performing team across strategy, ontology, technical discoverability, and insights operations

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in any field
10+ years leading enterprise digital, product, content, search, AI, analytics, or customer experience initiatives
Experience translating emerging technologies into scalable business strategies and measurable outcomes
Proven leadership through influence across matrixed business, medical, communications, and technology functions
Strong technical foundation in AI/ML, GenAI, and agentic AI concepts and applications
Strategic communication and change leadership skills
