JUVENILE PROBATION OFFICER
The Union County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile and Probate Division, is seeking a compassionate, motivated Juvenile Probation Officer to join our team. This rewarding position provides supervision, guidance, and case management to court-involved youth while helping them make positive choices and achieve lasting success. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and managing assigned juvenile probation cases.
- Monitoring compliance with court orders and implementing appropriate incentives or sanctions.
- Building positive relationships with youth, families, schools, and community partners.
- Conducting case investigations, preparing reports, and attending court hearings.
- Performing regular case contacts and drug/alcohol screenings as needed.
We're looking for someone who is:

- Organized, dependable, and an effective communicator.
- Committed to accountability, rehabilitation, and community service.
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in the field of social work, human services, education, psychology, cognitive behavior therapy/counseling or other related field PLUS one (1) or more years of experience in juvenile justice, social service, social work, corrections, law enforcement, or related field.
- A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred; however, in extenuating circumstances an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training (which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities) may satisfy this requirement.
- Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and maintain insurability under the county's vehicle insurance policy.
- Must possess or be able to obtain necessary licensure or certification to allow for carrying of any safety related equipment including but not limited to, tasers and pepper spray.
- Must possess and maintain certification for the use of Ohio Courts Network.

Inherently hazardous or physically demanding working conditions include exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment, possible injury due to unclean or unsanitary conditions, contact with potentially violent or emotionally distraught persons, exposure to hazardous driving conditions, use or work in proximity to the use of firearms, exposure to potentially vicious animals, exposure to needles and other drug paraphernalia, exposure to Hepatitis C and other such diseases, exposure to second hand smoke, working in or around crowds, ascending and/or descending stairs, exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions, and working irregular hours.
