The Bilingual Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in a small medical team by facilitating patient preparation, gathering vital signs, and documenting medical history. Reporting to the Office Manager, this position requires effective patient communication and insurance verification, ensuring smooth daily operations. The role involves frequent patient interactions and weekly administrative duties, utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software to support accurate and efficient healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Measure and record vital signs accurately
- Collect and document comprehensive medical histories
- Communicate effectively with patients in multiple languages
- Verify patient insurance information and eligibility
- Support weekly administrative tasks related to patient care
- Utilize EMR software to input and manage patient data
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in medical assisting
- Strong patient care and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in bilingual communication
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance
- Expertise in measuring and documenting vital signs
