Qualifications:

• NM CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) Certification required (details here)
• Experience working with K-12 students in school, clinical, or community settings
• Familiarity with supporting special needs populations—particularly autism, ADHD, and developmental delays
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Must be able to travel between sites

Responsibilities:

• Deliver onsite recreational therapy sessions for a caseload of approx. 35 K-12 students
• Facilitate group games to enhance social skills for students with autism
• Structure physical activities to help students with ADHD productively expend energy
• Adapt sports/recreation to build gross motor abilities in students with developmental delays
• Promote community integration by teaching students to access local recreational resources
• Offer coping strategies, relaxation techniques, and support for students dealing with stress, anxiety, or depression
