Location: 102 Marine Blvd, Jacksonville, NC, 28540 As a Barista at Port City Java, you are the first point of contact for our guests. A Barista should be able to process orders promptly and efficiently while providing superior hospitality and a positive attitude. Our guests’ experience with baristas is what sets us apart from our competition. We want to ensure the return of our guests because the success of Port City Java depends on it. Baristas are responsible for educating guests about our full menu, fulfilling orders efficiently and accurately, maintaining a clean workspace, contributing to a positive team dynamic, and having fun in the process. RESPONSIBILITIES: HOSPITALITY / ACCOUNTABILITY Greets every guest with a friendly, positive attitude Promotes the values and mission of Port City Java Provides superior hospitality and satisfaction on a daily basis by learning guests’ names and regular orders Accurately processes orders through POS and counts back change to guests Responds appropriately to guest concerns Communicates any guest complaints to management Adheres to company dress code as outlined in the Hourly Employee Handbook Respects peers and management by being on time for their scheduled shift and finding someone to cover shifts when they are unable to work PRODUCT QUALITY Ensures product quality and integrity for all food and beverage being served Educates guests on the full menu and is knowledgeable of coffee Maintains high levels of cleanliness and sanitation - follows proper Food Safety regulations as mandated by the Local Health Department Adheres to all recipes and guidelines as outlined in the Training Manual TEAMWORK / WORKPLACE DYNAMIC Communicates with teammates and management to solve problems and improve operational concerns and customer service Maintains continuous and effective communication with teammates during peak business hours Works with teammates and management to effectively implement change Contributes to a positive work environment Assists in completing opening, closing, or any other task list Makes a continuous effort to set and meet goals regarding job skills, knowledge, and education Initiates suggestive selling and sampling of products QUALIFICATIONS: No previous Barista experience is necessary Excellent verbal communication, listening, and customer service skills Fundamental knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures Must have the ability to analyze problems and make decisions that will lead to a solution Must be a team player that thrives under pressure while maintaining positive morale and a professional attitude PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time or entire work shift Work will require frequent and continual flexing and rotating of wrist and spine Work may require, on occasion, the need to lift or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50lbs Must be able to determine quality by tastings, cuppings, etc. of various products/recipes related to Port City Java system BENEFITS: Free brewed coffee 50% discount on all other beverages 30% discount on food Employee Referral Program Café Sales Bonus Incentives Volunteer-Time Reimbursement, up to 5 hours Health Insurance Coverage after one year of employment, company pays 85% (Full Time) Group-rated Dental and Vision Insurance after one year of employment (Full Time) Short-term disability after one year of employment (Full Time) Life Insurance after one year of employment (Full Time) Upward Mobility #J-18808-Ljbffr Hunter Super Techs - TurnPoint
