- Design, develop, and deliver technical training related to natural gas distribution and transmission systems, including but not limited to operations, maintenance, construction, and emergency response.
- Create and maintain training materials such as lesson plans, presentations, assessments, hands-on exercises, and simulations.
- Deliver classroom, field-based, virtual, and blended learning programs for employees and contractors.
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on feedback, field observations, on-the-job coaching, mentoring, performance-based trends and results.
- Manage training resources, ensuring all materials and equipment are up-to-date and in good working condition.
- Monitor workforce adherence to operating procedures, company standards, and safety requirements including follow up assessments and post-training evaluations.
- Stay current on industry codes, standards, technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Participate in incident reviews, root cause analyses, and corrective action development to identify training-related opportunities and incorporate lessons learned into training programs.
- Partner with Gas Operations, Engineering, Safety, and management teams to align training initiatives with business and operational needs.
- Evaluate and document trainee performance, feedback, and coaching geared toward the enhancement of the gas workforce's technical competencies.
- Minimum years of experience: 3+ years of experience in the natural gas industry or other relevant technical trade.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, instructional design, or other relevant area of
- Study.
- Technical knowledge of:
- Properties of natural gas, pipeline construction and maintenance, gas safety regulations.
- Knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 191, 192, and 193.
- MA 220 CMR.
- Operator Qualification programs and associated Written Plans.
- Ability to design and conduct effective training programs including instructional design, presentation skills, and managing the learning environment.
- Ability to obtain Operator Qualification tasks.
- 2+ years of demonstrated prior training experience.
- Completed apprentice program or other relevant trade qualifications.
