RN - Registered Nurse - Oncology

Position Overview5 East, Oncology is a 22-bed unit that specializes in the care of patients with a diagnosis or history of cancer. 5E also sees a variety of medical-surgical patients ranging from pneumonia and COPD to CHF and diabetes. Common surgical procedures for 5 East include biopsies, EGDs, lithotripsy, and cholecystectomies.What You Will DoProvide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.What You Will NeedLicensure / Certification / Registration:BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.Education:Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
