Commercial Lines Underwriter

We are seeking a motivated Commercial Package Product Underwriter with approximately three years of underwriting experience to support the growth and profitability of our commercial lines portfolio. This role focuses on evaluating and underwriting small to mid‑market commercial package business, ensuring disciplined risk selection, and delivering strong service to agency partners. The ideal candidate brings foundational underwriting experience, strong analytical skills, and a desire to grow within a collaborative, production‑oriented environment. About the Role This role focuses on evaluating and underwriting small to mid‑market commercial package business, ensuring disciplined risk selection, and delivering strong service to agency partners. Responsibilities Underwriting & Risk Evaluation Underwrite and price commercial package accounts including Property, General Liability, BOP, Commercial Auto, and Workers Compensation. Review submissions, loss history, financials, and operational exposures to determine appropriate terms and pricing. Apply underwriting guidelines and appetite while balancing growth and profitability. Prepare quotes, endorsements, and coverage recommendations. Agency & Broker Engagement Build and maintain productive relationships with appointed agents. Provide responsive service, clear communication, and collaborative problem‑solving. Support agency growth through consistent underwriting execution and market knowledge. Manage a growing book of business with accountability for retention and performance. Maintain accurate documentation, file notes, and rating analyses. Identify opportunities for cross‑sell, up‑sell, and product expansion. Collaborate with underwriting leadership, product, and operations to support business objectives. Qualifications Approximately 3 years of commercial underwriting experience, ideally with package or multiline products. Strong understanding of commercial lines coverage, rating, and risk evaluation. Ability to analyze exposures, interpret data, and make sound underwriting decisions. Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
