Job Summary Location: Methodist Physicians Clinic - HealthWest, 16120 W Dodge Rd., Omaha, NE Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm. No weekends. No holidays. Sign on bonus: $2,500.00. Responsibilities Medical Home Documentation: Document lab, procedures, and appointments on tracking forms, complete forms and follow-up on missed appointments. Assist Health Coaches with patient lists and scheduling. Patient Education: At the direction of the provider, provide patient and family education, ensuring adequate knowledge and recommending community resources as needed. Telephone Triage: Determine patient needs by recording and reporting conditions to provider, advising patients per provider instructions; return patient calls within 90 minutes (95% of the time). Record and report patient condition per policy (98% of the time). Work Area Maintenance: Clean and organize equipment and rooms, maintaining healthy environmental conditions (99% of the time). Prescription Renewals/Inquiries: Facilitate patient care, discuss questions with provider, relay information to pharmacy, handle refills per protocol (99% of the time). Age‑specific patient care: Provide appropriate care for patients based on age, ensuring understanding and comfort per “Age Specific Criteria”. Exam Room Preparation (Floor): Prepare exam rooms/equipment, review records, weigh patient, check vitals, perform medication reconciliation, obtain lab work, and assist providers retrieving tests. (95% of the time). Medication Dispensing: Dispense medications under provider direction; instruct patients/families on correct medication use. Phlebotomy: Assist or perform phlebotomy with proper labeling/handling, complete requisitions, collect specimens; document quality control (95% of the time). Order Entry & Documentation: Ensure accuracy of order entry, complete documentation without error (≥98% of the time). Phone Duties: Answer calls, return messages, provide test results, and complete pharmacy refill requests per protocol (98%-100% of the time). Job Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school. Experience: Previous Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or medical experience preferred; phlebotomy experience required (floor only). License/Certifications: Current valid LPN license or equivalent, valid compact multistate license, or temporary permit. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS strongly preferred; required within 3 months of hire. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures; understanding of medicine and disease recognition. Time management and task prioritization. Typing proficiency for electronic documentation. Provision of caring patient care when speaking with patients and families. Effective listening and information conveyance. Problem solving and proactive issue resolution. Computer navigation skills for patient information systems. Strong verbal communication with providers, staff, and patients. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical Requirements Medium Work: Exert up to 50 pounds. Physical Activity: Occasional climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting; Frequent balancing, carrying, crouching, twisting; Constantly typing, reaching, seeing, speaking, standing. Floor and phone area differences as specified.
