PCU Registered Nurse - $32-48 per hour

Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Summary The PCU at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is a 16‑bed inpatient unit caring for post‑operative cardiovascular and thoracic surgical patients who no longer require intensive CVR monitoring. The RN provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following nursing care standards. Responsibilities Promote patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and families about illness management, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Engage in professional development activities. Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and the patient or caregiver. Proactively plan and communicate the plan of care across the continuum of care. Utilize critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Maintain a constant state of alertness and ensure safe conduct, as this is a safety‑sensitive position. Minimum Requirements Registered Nursing (RN) license. Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing. No prior experience required. No supervisory experience required. Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
