APRNThe Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for clinic patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care (assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status). Clinical management is conducted in collaboration with other health care team members, and the scope of practice established by a protocol with a licensed medical doctor.Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for clinic patientsOrders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs.Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalitiesImplements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role.Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools and patient engagementGraduate of an accredited school of nursingGraduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner ProgramCurrent Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) LicensureCurrent Nurse Practitioner certification in Family Medicine, preferredCurrent provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferredStrong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointGeneral office working conditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust to focus. Frequent travel is required, often up to several hours of driving per day. Ability to travel to, attend, and conduct sales presentations. Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals. Exposure to variable weather conditions is likely.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.Minimal Hazards
