PRIMARY PURPOSE

Lead and facilitate full time salvage crew and participates in the salvage operation of the distribution facility

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Act for department supervisor in his/her absence Help to plan, organize, delegate and follow-up with associate's job duties to be completed Key trailers completed into Yard Management System (where applicable) Maintain communication with the switcher to ensure accurate and timely trailer moves Ensure that all areas of responsibility are running in a safe, orderly, effective manner Perform own salvage tasks while ensuring that all crew tasks are accomplished to standard Train full-time and or sub-contracted crew on salvage tasks Responsible for workload coverage and scheduling of salvage crew Keep management informed of salvage needs and workplace issues Ensure that the crew understands and follows safe work practices Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or distribution center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity

QUALIFICATIONS

Reach, stoop, bend and lift up to and including 60 lbs. Stand for long periods of time Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
