Speech And Language Pathologist

To work with parents, students, and staff in order to prevent, identify, evaluate and remediate a wide range of oral communication problems, including articulation, voice, fluency and language disorders.

Job duties include consultation, in service training, pre-referral, screenings, referrals, data collection, report writing, developing IEP's, caseload management, direct remediation, consulting on academic and social issues, documenting progress, collaborating with classroom teachers, and holding annual review meetings.

Education requirements include an Illinois Certificate with Speech and Language Pathology endorsement, a Speech Language Pathologist License from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, and a Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology.

Environmental conditions include working in noisy and crowded environments, indoors or outdoors in a busy school environment, frequently working at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions, and public contact requiring appropriate business-like apparel.

Physical demands include prolonged sitting or standing, occasional physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials, and occasional stooping, bending, and reaching.

Terms of employment include a nine-month position (184 work days) with a starting salary of $60,689.
