Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized mental health nursing care to psychiatric patients, ensuring safety and promoting recovery within a hospital or clinical setting. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' mental health status and document findings accurately.
• Administer prescribed medications and evaluate their effects.
• Develop and implement patient care plans tailored to psychiatric needs.
• Monitor patient behaviors and intervene to maintain safety.
• Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and clinical teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in North Carolina or relevant state.
• Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, therapies, and interventions.
• Ability to assess, prioritize, and respond to patient needs effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• BLS certification required; additional mental health certifications preferred.
