Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at the Gabe’s store in Wilkes Barre, PA. This position supports the Store Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, including supervising team members, driving sales, and ensuring excellent customer service. Responsibilities include assisting with scheduling, training, and coaching staff, monitoring merchandising and store presentation, and helping maintain inventory control and loss prevention standards. The Assistant Manager participates in opening and closing procedures, resolves customer issues, and helps implement company policies and promotional initiatives. This role works on the sales floor regularly, leading by example to promote a safe, clean, and efficient store environment. Qualifications Experience in retail store operations, including customer service, cash handling, and daily opening/closing procedures. Background in team leadership, such as supervising staff, coaching performance, and supporting training initiatives. Skills in merchandising and inventory management, including stock organization, visual presentation, and basic loss prevention awareness. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to address customer concerns and collaborate with store leadership. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in a retail environment. Comfort working in a fast-paced, physical setting, including standing for extended periods and lifting merchandise as needed. Previous experience as an assistant manager or supervisor in retail or a related field is preferred.
