Lead Field Service Representative

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Lead Field Service Representative. This role can be located out of Austin, TX, Corpus Christi TX, Lubbock TX, or San Antonio TX. This is a travelling role with the added benefit of company vehicle.This role is designated as a Regular Driver per Eaton’s Driver Safety Policy and requires a current, unrestricted driver’s license along with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record. Candidates will be subject to a motor vehicle record check upon hire.The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:Eaton’s Engineering Service & Systems Division is seeking a Lead Field Service Representative to join our team.Eaton has the largest and most experienced team of field services technicians and engineers in the industry, and we are looking to grow our team. In this role, you will:• Support customers across the power system lifecycle: startup, commissioning support, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, upgrades, and emergencies; identify and present additional sales opportunities to customers• Provide 24/7 on-call availability in field service engineering and technical support for electrical power distribution equipment• Proficient in protective relay testing and commissioning on power distribution equipment, troubleshooting, test equipment operation, software, parts knowledge, and safety precautions• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, service shops, and other organizations• Possess knowledge of UL, NEMA, and NEC standards.• Generate timely and accurate service reports on work, product performance, and warranties.• Manage multiple projects independently• Mentor less experienced techniciansQualifications:Basic Qualifications:• High School Diploma or higher with a minimum of 5 years of field service in performing protective relay testing and commissioning on power distribution equipment, including troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems, or in lieu of HS diploma or GED, completion of accredited trade school and/or program completion with 9 or more years of experience performing protective relay testing and commissioning on power distribution equipment, evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.• No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of WORK LOCATION to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordPreferred Qualifications:• Proficiency with industry-standard relay test equipment, including Doble F6150 (preferred), Megger SMRT Series, Omicron CMC Series, or equivalent platforms.• Experience using relay testing and automation software, such as Doble Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron Test Universe, Megger RTMS, or similar applications.• Associate’s degree and/or military experience• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution• Electrical or General Contractor’s License or Professional Engineering License• NICET/NETA certificationSkills:Position Success Criteria:• Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton’s safety program and policy; This includes role-applicable portions of the EESS Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) program and any required annual re-certifications thereafter• Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings• Must have the ability to work variable hours, including nights & weekends, and travel within the district/state/region/country based on customer requirements.• Must be able and willing to obtain Department of Transportation (DOT) non-CDL qualification and comply with all DOT regulatory requirements, if required.• This role is designated as a Regular Driver per Eaton’s Driver Safety Policy and requires a current, unrestricted driver’s license along with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record. Candidates will be subject to a motor vehicle record check upon hire.• Understands 3-phase power systems and low, medium, and high voltage power distribution equipment.• Working knowledge of relay protection principles including overcurrent, differential, distance, motor protection, transformer protection, and feeder protection schemes.• Performs physically demanding tasks, requirement to stand, walk, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach above, to, and below shoulder level, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands to handle and feel. Frequently required to climb. Regularly required to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to push/pull > 50 pounds with assistance.
