Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee the successful delivery of commercial construction projects across multiple locations. This role is responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating field activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to established quality standards. Extensive travel is required, with assignments potentially lasting several weeks or months depending on project needs.


The Superintendent will lead subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel while serving as the primary on-site point of contact for project execution. Responsibilities include reviewing plans and specifications, developing and maintaining project schedules, coordinating inspections, monitoring productivity, conducting jobsite meetings, and resolving construction issues promptly. The successful candidate will enforce safety policies, maintain accurate site documentation, track materials and equipment, verify workmanship, and communicate project status, risks, and required decisions to project leadership. Strong collaboration with clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, and trade partners is essential.


Applicants should have substantial experience supervising commercial construction projects from mobilization through completion, preferably in sectors such as healthcare, education, retail, hospitality, industrial, or office development. A thorough understanding of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, scheduling practices, and quality control procedures is required. The ideal candidate is an organized, decisive, and solutions-focused leader who can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software, along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and contract documents, is preferred. A relevant degree, trade qualification, or equivalent field experience is desirable. Regular travel, extended stays away from home, and occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
