School Intervention Specialist Location: 241 Greenhouse Road, Lexington, VA

In this role, you will provide behavioral health interventions and therapeutic support to children and adolescents experiencing mental, behavioral, or emotional health challenges that impact their success in the school setting. Working directly within local schools, you will partner with students, educators, families, and community providers to deliver evidence-based interventions, coordinate care, and promote positive behavioral and emotional outcomes. Background Investigation Requirements : All applicants are subject to a background investigation. The School Intervention Specialist reports to the Child and Adolescent Community-Based Services Manager. Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group behavioral interventions, therapeutic activities, psychoeducational services, and mental health support to students referred by school administration.
- Develop and implement intervention strategies that improve students' behavioral, emotional, and academic functioning.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client documentation in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, administrators, families, and other school personnel to coordinate services and support student success.
- Coordinate care by connecting students and families with appropriate community resources and services.
- Advocate for students through collaboration with schools, families, healthcare providers, and community agencies, including FAPT/CSA, primary care providers, DSS, and other partners as appropriate.
- Participate in clinical treatment team meetings, assessments, case consultations, and required training.
- Maintain professional boundaries while ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of all clients.
- Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field required.
- One to three years of experience working with children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, or mental health needs is preferred.
- QMHP or QMHP-Trainee status (or eligibility) with the Virginia Board of Health Professions is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record per RACS policies.
