Department Information The Center for Mental Health Care and Resources provides Georgia Tech students with accessible, timely, and high-quality counseling and other mental health services. We work with all students who visit us to develop an individualized care plan based on their unique needs. Our staff of clinical case coordinators and counselors all specialize in mental health concerns that affect college students. We provide all students with evidence-based and data-driven interventions to help them to improve your functioning and get back on track with your personal, social, and academic goals. Job Summary Provide client-centered services that links clients with health care, psychosocial and other services to ensure timely, coordinated access to medically appropriate levels of health and support services, continuity of care, ongoing assessment of clients and/or family members needs and personal support systems. Provide clinical services including limited counseling sessions to bridge students to outside services. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Staff, students, family members, and off campus providers. This position typically will advise and counsel: Clients. This position will supervise: N/A Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Provide comprehensive assessment of the clients treatment needs and personal support systems. Job Duty 2 - Coordinate client referrals to community mental health providers and coordinate students transition back to Georgia Tech. Job Duty 3 - Provide case management services to clients including short-term counseling bridge services, coordinate community referral services, hospitalization or hospital based care, and transition planning. Job Duty 4 - Provide initial consultation, triage, and back-up counseling duties. Job Duty 5 - Assist in maintaining referral databases. Job Duty 6 - Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Master's Degree in social work or counseling/clinical psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience Other Required Qualifications Eligible for certification by American Biological Safety Association (ABSA) Must be able to pass a DOJ/FBI Security Risk Assessment. Must be a US Citizen. Must be able to respond to biological incidents and emergencies when required (on-call 24/7). Required Experience Three years of job related experience Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications Related experience in a higher education setting; Experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric disorder treatment center preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS

Knowledge and experience with computer based systems (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Knowledge of professional, national, and state ethical guidelines. Demonstrated ability to communicate, problem solve, and work effectively with people; excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; strong analytical skills; knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations; in depth knowledge of case management tools; ability to take initiative and see tasks to completion; excellent verbal and written communication skills; skilled at establishing and maintaining positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, patients, and providers; ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).
