Job Summary

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is seeking compassionate and dependable Nursing Assistants to join our overnight team in a residential behavioral health setting serving children and adolescents in Chester, NJ. Patients are medically stable and do not require acute nursing care. This role focuses on ensuring patient safety, supporting daily routines, monitoring patient well-being, and creating a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for young individuals receiving behavioral health treatment.

Schedule

Overnight Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekend availability preferred
Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available

Responsibilities

Assist children and adolescents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene and general support as needed.
Perform routine patient observations and scheduled safety checks.
Obtain and accurately document vital signs.
Supervise and support patients during meals and snacks while encouraging adherence to treatment plans.
Conduct indirect bathroom observations in accordance with facility policies to promote patient safety.
Monitor patients for changes in behavior, mood, or physical condition and promptly communicate concerns to the nursing staff.
Provide emotional support and help maintain a calm, positive, and therapeutic environment.
Complete accurate documentation and communicate effectively during shift handoffs.
Follow all facility policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

Current Nursing Assistant certification (CNA) preferred or equivalent patient care experience.
Previous experience working with children, adolescents, behavioral health, mental health, residential treatment, or healthcare is preferred.
Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients throughout a 12-hour shift.
CPR/BLS certification is a plus.
