Cath Lab Manager

Position Overview The Manager of the Invasive Lab works with medical staff and professionals in cardiology, radiology, vascular surgery and trauma services and oversees the daily clinical operations of the invasive labs (Cath, EP, Device, Hybrid, and Interventional Radiology). They ensure the highest level of quality care to patients. General Duties Coordinates and integrates services within the department and with system primary functions. Maintains close coordination with all departments to ensure continuity and collaboration of services. Assists in developing policies and procedures specific to cardiovascular services and directs those to appropriate committees. Collaborates with medical directors to promote physician engagement. Provides supervision and direction to team leaders in managing staffing levels, assignments, performance evaluations, tests and competencies, orientation, training, and continuing education. Evaluates quality of patient care by conducting patient rounds, interviews, staff observation, and review of clinical documentation. Assists with ACC data collection process in the Cath Lab. Troubleshoots x‑ray, monitoring, computer, digital and other equipment used for cardiac catheterizations, temporary pacemakers and related procedures. Maintains and develops new protocols and procedures as technology and equipment evolve. Engages in process improvement activities within the service line. Assists department leader with collecting, completing, and submitting quality and performance improvement data. Maintains departmental reports, records and statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes. Develops budgets for the department/unit/entities, allocates funds and monitors variance. Develops, establishes, and implements goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for department operation. Establishes and maintains safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards. Assesses and works to improve overall performance. Maintains appropriate quality‑control/assessment programs. Assists inventory and supply‑chain staff in managing purchased and consignment products to ensure conformity and revenue capture. Assists supervisor with daily staffing and ensures after‑hours call rotation meets departmental needs. Experience, Education, Licenses & Certifications Minimum of 3 years experience in Invasive Cardiology or Interventional Radiology (UMC). Associate’s degree from an accredited institution or a two‑year certification program in accredited Radiologic Technology or equivalent (including training from the United States Armed Forces). Preferred: Bachelor’s degree. Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (Required) – Issued by American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required) – Issued by American Heart Association. Radiography Certification (Required) – Issued by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. RN or Radiology Technician (Required) – Issued by Louisiana State Board of Nursing and Louisiana Board Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners. Work Shift Days (United States of America).
