Benefits: Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance IMMEDIATE OPENING: Fourth Grade General Studies Teacher Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis Indianapolis, Indiana Position Summary Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis (HHAI) seeks a dynamic, student-centered Fourth Grade General Studies Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about elementary education, committed to fostering curiosity and critical thinking, and dedicated to nurturing the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student. Working collaboratively with the Fourth Grade Judaics teacher, specialists, and school leadership, the General Studies Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies while supporting the mission and values of our Jewish day school. Primary ResponsibilitiesInstruction and Curriculum Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Develop lesson plans that promote inquiry, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assessments to monitor student growth and inform instruction. Integrate technology thoughtfully to enhance learning and student engagement. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Classroom Environment Establish a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom culture rooted in mutual respect and high expectations. Foster students' social-emotional development alongside academic achievement. Create a classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and challenged. Implement proactive classroom management strategies that encourage student responsibility and independence. Student Growth Assess student learning through formal and informal methods. Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families. Maintain accurate records of student progress. Work collaboratively with school leadership and support staff to meet individual student needs. Family Communication Develop strong partnerships with families through regular communication. Prepare progress reports and report cards in a timely manner. Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain ongoing communication regarding student growth and development. Respond professionally and promptly to parent questions and concerns. Collaboration and Professionalism Work collaboratively with Judaics faculty, specialists, and administration to support student success. Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, school committees, and collaborative planning. Demonstrate a growth mindset and commitment to continuous professional learning. Contribute positively to the culture and mission of HHAI. School Community Participate in school events, assemblies, field trips, and community celebrations. Support school-wide initiatives that strengthen student engagement and school culture. Serve as a positive ambassador for HHAI within the school and broader community. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: A bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field (master's degree preferred). A valid Indiana Elementary Education teaching license (or eligibility for licensure). A minimum of three years of successful elementary classroom teaching experience preferred. Strong understanding of elementary instructional best practices and child development. Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and support students with diverse learning needs. Excellent classroom management skills built upon positive relationships and restorative practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience integrating educational technology into classroom instruction. A collaborative spirit and willingness to work as part of a professional learning community. A commitment to continuous growth and reflective teaching practice. Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to candidates who possess: Experience teaching in an independent or faith-based school. Experience working in small classroom environments. Training in project-based learning, inquiry-based instruction, or STEAM education. Familiarity with differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). An appreciation for Jewish culture, traditions, and the mission of a Jewish day school. Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time, exempt faculty position following the HHAI academic calendar. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
