We seek an experienced Advanced Quality Engineer to design, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into finished products. Utilizing your knowledge and experience you'll have the opportunity to design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products.What you'll experience:Technologies that aren't just top-notch, they're often top-secretA team of bold thinkers committed to exploring what's nextOpportunities to gain new knowledge - as it's discoveredWhat you will be doing:Preparation and implementation of Quality Plans based on the internal Quality System and Custom Requirements.Support tailoring of processes to meet Program requirements.Monitor build and test activities to ensure compliance to Quality Plans, Customer Requirements, and approved GDMS processes to ensure the proper level of control in place and maintained.Ensure proper and effective records of the as-built product configuration.Monitor and participate in the Deviation and Engineering Change processes to ensure proper change management and transfer to manufacturing is completed in an effective manner.Monitor nonconformances and apply root cause analysis problem solving to countermeasure known systemic defects.Perform Program-specific audits and surveillance to evaluate the program's compliance with processes, quality plans, and customer requirements.Participate in supplier evaluation and selection processes and monitor supplier performance to identify supplier development opportunities.Collect and report quality metrics to identify continuous improvement opportunities.Lead systemic defect investigations and root cause/corrective action by working cross-functionally.Implement Quality System policies, procedures, and instructions as required.What you bring to the table:A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceFully proficient knowledge of engineering (i.e., software, electrical, systems, etc.) methodologies, tools, and standardsFully proficient knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, CMMI, ISO 14001ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc.Fully proficient knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniquesWhat sets you apart:Outstanding communication skills to work proactively with a project team and interact with project leaders and other professionals within Engineering and Operations departmentsAbility to think creatively and multi-task to complete projects on timeSolid skills in reviewing documents, drawings and instructions for conformance to requirements techniquesIdentifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovationOur Commitment to You:An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.Research oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation's securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and moreSee more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefitsWorkplace Options: This position is fully onsite in Canonsburg, PA.Salary NoteThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
