Drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at the destination on time and in good condition and are the face of the company, building lasting relationships with customers. The Driver, Formula CDL-A is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local routes, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes for delivering and unloading food and related products to customers in a safe and timely manner in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly. Function as a team member and perform duties to best serve the company. Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of the tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; ensure safety standards are met and take action as needed. Report safety issues and necessary repairs. Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately report safety hazards and inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight. Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices for goods loaded. Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly. Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed. Drive to deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route schedule. Unload products from the trailer and transport items to designated customer storage areas. Perform damage control checks, scan items, and notify supervisor if orders should be removed per policy. Verify delivery with the customer and obtain proper signatures. Collect money (cash or checks) where required. Load customer returns and secure trailer doors. Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are secured when not in use. Unload damaged goods and returns and complete necessary paperwork; unload equipment and remove trash as required. Complete daily logs of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements. Maintain general housekeeping in the tractor and loading dock area; keep trailers clean. At shift end, secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; Six (6) months commercial driving experience; Valid CDL-A; Must be 21+ years of age; Meet all state licensing/certification requirements (where applicable); Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years; Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check; Pass road test; Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure a new DOT Health Card; Ability to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move stacked product cases/freight of varying size and weight (10-35 lbs generally, up to 60-90 lbs depending on location).
