Structural Designer

Location: Newport News, VA (On-site)

Position Overview

Genesis is seeking an experienced Structural Designerto support the design and development of naval and marine vessel structures. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with 3D structural modeling, ship structural design, and ShipConstructor, with the ability to develop detailed models and production-ready design documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D structural modelsfor naval and commercial vessels.
• Perform structural design and layout of hulls, decks, bulkheads, foundations, stiffeners, brackets, and related ship structures.
• Create and modify structural models using ShipConstructorand associated CAD/design tools.
• Produce detailed drawings, arrangements, fabrication drawings, and other engineering documentation.
• Interpret engineering calculations, specifications, contract requirements, and design standards.
• Coordinate structural designs with mechanical, electrical, piping, and other engineering disciplines.
• Support design reviews, model reviews, and resolution
