Job Summary
Telemetry / Intermediate Care Unit Nurse Alton, IL. The organization is seeking an Intermediate Care Unit (ICU) Telemetry nurse to provide cardiac monitoring for adult patients, including postcardiac catheterization and pacemaker patients, observation patients for rule-out MI, and patients with common cardiopulmonary and chronic conditions. Candidates will support care after transfer out of the ICU and may care for patients post CVA (with potential TPA) as well as overflow medical/surgical patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift (12-hour shifts), with 36 hours per week for 312s and 48 hours per week for 412s; weekend coverage every other weekend may be required.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure as applicable to Missouri (MO) or compact requirements; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); at least 1 year of prior charge/telemetry-related patient ratio experience relevant to cardiac telemetry/PCU/stepdown settings; ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage dysrhythmias; experience with cardiac telemetry and care for CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) patients; experience with PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown level care (as applicable); experience supporting post-MI care and pre/post cardiac cath care; Epic charting experience (EPIC).
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with adult cardiac telemetry patients and related intermediate care unit workflows (as applicable).
• Additional Information: Open to floating within scope to meet facility needs. On-call is not required; however, clinicians could be placed on-call for low census and contacted during their shift. Flu vaccination is required (medical/religious exemptions only).
