Senior Tax Staff Accountant

Position Summary Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking a Senior Tax Staff Accountant to join our team of dedicated professionals. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation and review of various reports in support of servicing clients, including preparing simple to moderately complex tax returns, as well as tax projections and tax research. This role operates on a hybrid schedule out of our White Plains, NY office. Primary Responsibilities Prepare and review individual, corporate (S corp and C corp), partnership, estate, trust, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns. Review General Ledger and reports to assist in preparation of tax projections. Perform tax research and planning as needed to solve client tax issues. Correspond with clients regarding tax notices, jurisdictional issues, and/or tax audits. Assist in preparing financial reports, including net worth statements, cash flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment analysis, and tour reconciliations. Assist with tour preparation and planning, including budgets, state, local, and international tax clearances, and reductions for touring artists. Assist with various business management tasks (e.g., purchase and sale of real estate, royalty allocations, preparing RMD schedules, international employment documents). Provide informal supervision and training to Staff Accountant(s). Other projects and duties as assigned. Qualifications 3–5 years of experience as a Tax Staff Accountant or similar role, including preparing and/or reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Business management experience, especially supporting entertainment and/or high‑net‑worth individuals, preferred. Familiarity with CCH Axcess preferred. Familiarity with AgilLink software a plus. International tax experience a plus. Experience training tax staff accountants a plus. CPA or CPA eligibility a plus. Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly. Solid interpersonal skills (communication, time management, organization, attention to detail, adaptability, critical thinking). Compensation The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $90,000 – $125,000 . Actual base pay may vary based on factors including experience, subject‑matter expertise, geographic location, and the applicant’s skill set. Base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Benefits Other rewards may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
