Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. This role involves creating 2D AutoCAD General Arrangement drawings from written product information and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will determine the best design for customer applications, visualize complete product designs, and ensure all drawings meet customer requirements and company standards. This position may expand to include additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D AutoCAD General Arrangement drawings based on written product information.
• Determine the best design for customer applications using provided documentation, quotations, and product knowledge.
• Visualize the complete product design from customer information, sketches, and drawings.
• Complete all drawings according to customer requirements, design schedules, and company standards, procedures, policies, codes, regulations, and best engineering practices.
• Utilize standard product lines and knowledge of metal fabrication, assembly, and lift component interactions to create optimal solutions for customer applications.
• Calculate specific lift parameters from baseline products for particular customer applications.
• Collaborate with Project Management and Sales Departments to discuss and resolve project issues.
• Provide design details to Product Engineering team members.
• Participate in resolving design errors and contribute to refining and developing departmental processes.
• Work safely and adhere to all company safety rules.
• Promote excellence in all business-related efforts and products.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks.
• Experience in mechanical design.
• Understanding of steel and industrial lifts.
• Familiarity with lift components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a relevant field. Bachelor's degree is not required.
• Technical skills in design and CAD drawings.
• Reliability and dependability.
• Ability to start designing products based on information from Project Managers.

Work Environment

This position is on-site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00/hr.
