Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Reno, NV | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | 3x12-hour shifts, Days | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers, utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems while demonstrating cognitive and psychosocial competency specific to the patient population served
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythm strips; apply continuous telemetry knowledge in patient care decisions
• Coordinate care across interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts
• Float to other units as needed, up to competency level, based on organizational needs
• Maintain expected schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts; expected to pick up one additional shift per schedule period

Required Qualifications

• Active Nevada RN license required prior to start date
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring telemetry rhythm strips
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume acute care or trauma-affiliated environment
• Familiarity with complex patient populations including cardiac and surgical cases
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to variable scheduling and departmental float needs
