Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed MedSurg Stepdown unit, maintaining ratios of 1:3 (Stepdown) and 1:5–6 (Floor)
• Titrate IV drips as required per patient condition and physician orders
• Monitor telemetry and independently read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips each shift alongside tele techs
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including charge nurses, transport RNs, certified nursing assistants, and in-house respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Manage patients on ventilators and other respiratory equipment as needed
• Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements as scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
• BLS certification required (must be current and unexpired)
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac strip interpretation
• Experience with IV drip titration
• COVID-19 vaccination required (full vaccination series); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted promptly for review and approval
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a MedSurg Stepdown, IMC, or PCU setting
• Familiarity with ventilator management in a stepdown environment
• Experience working with nursing assistants and ancillary support staff in a team-based care model
