About the Position

Job Title: RN - Med/Surg Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS; CRRN certification preferred Description: Travel RN position in a Medical-Surgical unit. The unit has 41 beds and currently employs over 60 nursing staff. Day shift consists of 4 RNs and 5 LPNs, while night shift has 4 RNs and 4 LPNs. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6. Equipment used includes patient lifts, iSTAT, glucometers, and wound vacs. Nurses administer inhalers, breathing treatments, and perform dressing changes. Experience with EMR systems, specifically Meditech, is required. Candidates should exhibit good communication skills and empathy. Must enjoy educating patients and family members on care plans and rehabilitation programs. Responsibilities include assisting in rehabilitation care plans established by the interdisciplinary team. Additional tasks involve lab draws, administering IV antibiotics, IV medications, and performing head-to-toe assessments. Candidates must demonstrate competency in telemetry.
