What You ll Do

• Provide inpatient management of complex cardiac surgery patients, including post-operative care for CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgeries
• Support pre- and post-operative assessment and treatment, including wound and chest tube management
• Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans
• Conduct daily patient evaluations, monitor arrhythmias, and manage medical devices such as pacemakers
• Recognize clinical deterioration and escalate care promptly
• Support discharge planning and coordinate patient transitions
• Document patient care efficiently using EPIC and Sectra systems

What You Need

• Current Missouri licensure and Board Certification in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• At least 2 years of cardiac surgery experience, trauma Level I experience preferred
• Proficiency in managing high-acuity cardiac patients, including invasive and non-invasive procedures
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy

About the Assignment

You'll work in a hospital setting with a supportive staff, supporting surgeons and cardiologists with comprehensive inpatient care. The role involves complex patient management, requiring an experienced clinician comfortable practicing independently and collaborating effectively.
