Traveling LPN – Local Multi-SiteUnder the general direction of the Wellness Director, primary responsibilities include but are not limited to aiding the residents in maintaining their highest level of functional independence and psychosocial wellness. These nurses will travel and be on call or scheduled to cover shifts that are open.LPN Duties/Responsibilities:Assumes responsibility for administering quality care to meet the total needs of residentsProvides medication administration, handling, & storage as follows:Provides medication assistance for residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy including pouring, preparing, assisting with administration, and documentationAssists in maintaining the medication cart and storage room in a neat and orderly mannerAccepts responsibility for accurate medication counts and for security of the medication cart and medication storage room for assigned shiftsComply with company policies and procedures related to controlled substances, narcotic count and documentationUse sound nursing judgment to evaluate changes in resident situations and report to Wellness Director and/or physician when appropriate.Observes changes in Resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates them to the Wellness DirectorOffers comfort and support, emotionally and physically, to residentsReports resident and staff concerns and/or issues to the Wellness Director and/or Executive Director, as designated.Assists with vital signs and weight monitoring monthly or more frequently as required for all residents and completes all required documentationAssists with resident move-in and move-outs and with resident discharge planning as neededEnsure compliance to the American House philosophy as well as all written policies and procedures that govern the operation of the Resident Services DepartmentLPN Required Skills/Abilities:2+ years of nursing experience preferably with experience in long-term care or geriatricsExperience with dementia residents preferredUp to date first aid and CPR certificationCurrent Unencumbered LPN license in the stateKnowledge of the physiology and psychology of the older adults.Willingness to work evenings and weekendsExceptional staff training and customer service skillsCompassionate and friendly demeanorLPN Education and Requirements:Graduate from an accredited School of NursingMinimum 18 years of ageMust pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, TB test and physicalMust have reliable transportation and able to do local travel between communities as directed.Senior Living experience is preferredCompany OverviewFounded in 1979, American House Senior Living Communities' vision is to provide high-quality housing for seniors at a price affordable for retirees and their families.
