Materials Distribution Team Member

This position is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory and effectively moving products and packages throughout the facility. This position is also responsible for processing all shipments, while recognizing priorities to ensure on time delivery and customer satisfaction. The person in this position will be cross-trained in multiple areas within the shipping and receiving team in order to meet department and business needs.

Essential duties and responsibilities include providing and promoting a safe work environment throughout the entire facility, performing material services to all departments, customers and suppliers while verifying that counts and inventory transactions are complete, ensuring product is labeled, packaged and stored appropriately, cycle counting, including applicable inventory transactions, ordering or requesting manufacturing supplies when needed, regularly checking manufacturing orders received from the customer service department, receiving, inspecting and processing paperwork and rejected material, per ISO procedures, communicating and coordinating shipment information with truck lines, suppliers and throughout the facility, processing paperwork for all shipments, understanding INFOR system, this includes: pick lists, packing lists, shipping procedures, etc., and following indicated instructions pertaining to customers, loading trucks in the most cost efficient way for deliveries, stocking product and keeping track of non-inventory items at external warehouses, ensuring shipments to customers and suppliers are in good condition, inspecting forklifts, trucks and trailers as necessary, processing inventory transactions, following 5S guidelines to continuously help to keep the facility clean and orderly, and assisting in attaining the department goals in regards to inventory.

Other job duties include performing all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent degree, commercial driver's license (CDL) desired, 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred, strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), ability to recognize safety concerns, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong coordination and judgment skills, intermediate math skills, ability to work independently and as a team player, ability to take part in continuous education and training, and ability to operate a forklift truck safely and effectively.

Equipment used includes office equipment (computer, phone, printer, scanner, copier and fax machine), forklifts, automotive vehicles, overhead crane, shrink wrapper, trucks.
