Database Administrator

Salary: $85,000 - 141,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree, or four additional years of relevant experience in place of the degree.
• We are looking for 4 to 10 years of DBA-related experience.
• We need strong hands-on expertise with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including triggers, stored procedures, functions, and packages.
• We expect the ability to create, adjust, and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code.
• We need proven experience troubleshooting and resolving data and system performance issues.
• We value strong Oracle performance-tuning skills, including SQL and PL/SQL optimization.
• We prefer proficiency with SQL Developer, SQL Loader, and other Oracle tools.
• We seek solid analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
• We need excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
• We look for a team-oriented professional who can plan and coordinate effectively.
• We value self-motivation, adaptability, and the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.

• We expect a strong understanding of SDLC practices, including Agile and Waterfall.
• We need demonstrated ability to research and resolve complex technical issues in distributed IT environments.
• We require the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust clearance prior to onboarding.
• We prefer candidates with active Public Trust or suitability status.
• AWS cloud technology experience, such as RDS, Lambda, EC2, and Redshift, is a plus.
• Experience with Grants.gov applications is a nice-to-have.
• Experience in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting is also preferred.

• We design, develop, and maintain automation, data-processing, and database-maintenance scripts using PL/SQL, Perl, and shell scripting.
• We participate in production implementations and help ensure smooth transition of system changes into production.
• We work closely with production support teammates to deliver reliable releases.
• We provide technical troubleshooting and consulting support to development teams.
• We analyze data, debug issues, and identify data quality problems.
• We investigate application issues, determine root causes, and implement lasting fixes.
• We create and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams and operational procedures.
• We analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve database and application performance problems.
• We collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to improve stability and performance.
• We ensure database environments align with best practices for reliability, scalability, and security.
• We may participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation or overnight deployments.
