Licensed Practical NurseLPN General Summary: Provides primary clinical support to the provider, patient and their family to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient’s condition. Follows up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing of same in medical record to ensure continuity and quality of care. The ideal candidate would help provide quality patient care, is a team player, has a positive attitude, possess exceptional customer service ensuring a positive experience. You must be able to communicate effectively with patients and families, maintain a friendly demeanor, and be compassionate and understanding.Essential Job Responsibilities:Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients.Collects specimens for laboratory analysis.Obtains vital statistics and updates patient information; records notes in patient e-chartProvides basic patient care as ordered by physician, mid-levels and allied health professionals.Administers medications and treatments as directed.Assists other health care professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments, and minor medical procedures.Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.Documents assessments, interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results in medical records.Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician and allied health professional advice/instructions.Handles patient telephone inquiries regarding medical information and advice, following practice triage protocols.Handles pharmacy communications regarding patient prescriptions.Maintains medical supply levels in exam rooms.Responsible for instrument sterilization procedures.Functions according to delegated authority and follows practice policies/procedures.Maintains patient confidentiality and performs position responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.Other similar and related duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements:Demonstrates clinical competence in the clinical knowledge and skills area of practice, and assisting MD’s with procedures.High school diplomaGraduation from an approved practical nursing program.Minimum one year of LPN experience; medical practice setting experience preferred.State-licensed practical nurseAt least one year Med/Surg experience required.Salary Range (Based on Experience) $25.07 - $33.78
