Position Overview

We are hiring dependable and personable team members to work as Badge Scanners and Breakers at an event in Detroit. These positions involve assisting temporary staff with breaks and lunches, checking and scanning badges, and helping event attendees with basic questions and directions.

Breaker

Job Purpose:
Assist the agency supervisor in providing breaks and lunches for temporary staff working in various locations.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Stand and move throughout the show floor and conference areas to assist staff with breaks.
• Operate a handheld badge scanner.
• Be proactive and attentive to people who may need assistance.
• Greet individuals and ask if they need help.
• Communicate clearly and effectively.
• Work well with supervisors and other event staff.

Badge Scanner

Job Purpose:
Maintain a professional and welcoming presence at designated areas. Badge Scanners will check and scan badges for attendees entering sponsored meetings, conference lunch sessions, Battery Tech Theater, Open Tech Forum, Keynote sessions, Award Ceremony, and other designated event areas.

Responsibilities:

• Check and scan attendee badges using a handheld scanning device.
• Maintain a position at the assigned meeting room, check-in desk, café, theater, forum, or ballroom entrance.
• Monitor the scanner's battery power throughout the shift.
• Pick up and return the scanner each day.
• Assist attendees with questions about sessions and event areas.
• Know the location of restrooms and food options in the assigned area.
• Greet individuals in a friendly and personable manner.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with attendees.
• Interact professionally and engage with attendees when assistance is needed.
• Work well with the supervisor and other event staff.
