Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiac Progressive Care, CVICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Telemetry Cardiac, Critical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 hours Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience License: Current RN license Certifications: Current BLS, Current ACLS, EPIC charting experience Must-Have: - 2 years of Critical Care experience - Successful completion of prior traveler assignments - Must float to other units as needed Description: The cardiovascular unit provides medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care to admitted patients. Patients are generally classified as medium to high acuity. Patients admitted to the unit are stable but have a high potential for becoming unstable. They have higher complexity and existing comorbidities which require a higher level of nursing care. The patient population served consists of young adults through geriatric patients. Examples of patients include those with cardiac diagnoses, pre/post cardiac artery bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy, and acute myocardial infarction. Other patients may have conditions such as post-pacemaker insertion, arrhythmia detection, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and similar disease processes. The patient-to-nurse ratio shall not exceed 1:4. Floating to other units, including Med/Surg, may be required. Holiday coverage is required.
