Quality Control Inspector

Responsibilities Perform inspections and tests on materials, production processes, and finished products to validate conformance with RER and customer quality requirements. Verify incoming materials against customer standards and specifications through visual examinations, inspections, and tests, rejecting and coordinating the return of unacceptable items. Document and conduct in‑process and final inspection and test activities, ensuring all nonconforming conditions are communicated and corrected before product release. Initiate and manage corrective action processes for adverse quality conditions, ensuring timely identification, communication, and resolution of nonconformances. Serve as a qualified auditor and technical specialist for internal and external audits. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply‑chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve production processes. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, ASME Code, jurisdictional requirements, and customer specifications. Support workforce development by training and mentoring employees on quality standards, inspection techniques, and continuous improvement practices. Manage workload priorities, including overtime needs and special projects, to meet operational and customer demands. Operate lift equipment and cranes to safely move parts and pumps. Monitor and maintain inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) and coordinate repairs or maintenance with approved suppliers. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or higher in an engineering‑related or technical field preferred. Ability to interpret and analyze data, read and interpret drawings, specifications, and blueprints, and to document inspection results. Knowledge of manufacturing methods, visual inspection, surveillance, metrology, calibration, inspection and test methods, procurement, corrective action, and document control. Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve problems using technical knowledge. Fluent in performing measurements, calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume using basic algebra and geometry. Proficiency in operating hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, lift equipment, and cranes. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Experience or knowledge of ASME, ISO 9001, AISC, or other QA/QC certifications is preferred. Prior experience with pump operation, fabrication, or repair is desired.
