About the Role:

The Lumberyard Puller / Striker plays a critical role in the efficient operation of a lumberyard by ensuring that materials are accurately pulled, prepared, and staged for customer orders and production needs. This position requires a keen attention to detail to verify inventory, select the correct lumber and building materials, and maintain organized stock areas. The role involves physical labor, including lifting, moving, and stacking heavy materials safely and efficiently. The Lumberyard Puller / Striker also supports the yard team by communicating effectively with coworkers and customers to fulfill orders promptly and accurately. Ultimately, this position contributes to customer satisfaction and operational productivity by maintaining a smooth workflow within the lumberyard environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials up to 80 pounds.
• Basic knowledge of lumber types, building materials, and yard operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a lumberyard, warehouse, or construction environment.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems
• Forklift certification or experience operating yard equipment.
• Basic math skills for measuring and calculating material quantities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately pull and prepare lumber and building materials according to customer orders and production requirements.
• Inspect materials for quality and report any defects or discrepancies to supervisors.
• Organize and maintain the lumberyard stock areas to ensure easy access and inventory accuracy.
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks, using appropriate equipment and following safety protocols.
• Assist with deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with yard staff and customers to coordinate order fulfillment and resolve issues.
• Operate hand tools and machinery safely to cut, measure, or move materials as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to company safety standards and procedures.

The required skills such as physical stamina and attention to detail are essential for safely handling and accurately selecting lumber and materials daily. Candidates use their knowledge of lumber types and building materials to ensure the correct products are pulled and prepared for orders, minimizing errors and delays. Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Saturdays 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
