Job Title

Duties - Plans, designs, coordinates, installs, modifies, tests, repairs, and maintain transformers, converters, regulators, cables, switches, sectionalizes, circuit breakers, mechanical and electronic systems, and other circuit elements located in and near installation substations, buildings and structures, in direct support of real time intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, cyber and information technology capabilities. - Plans, constructs, modifies, connects, inspects, locates and repairs overhead and underground electrical distribution lines providing power for climate control, security, and storage to a Pre-positioned War Reserve Stock of underwater mines, torpedoes, and small arms ammunition. - Troubleshoots and maintains distribution circuits, airfield lighting, airfield computer panels, lightning protection systems (LPS), railroad grounding protection systems, railyard LPS, generating and controlling equipment, ship to shore power bunkers and cables. - Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. • Position requires the ability to discern colors and contrast. May be required to possess a valid operator's license in order to drive a motor vehicle to and from work sites

• Visually checks the work of contractors for compliance with contract specifications on new construction
• The physical requirements of this position as determined by the manager are: The employee frequently performs moderately heavy lifting, pulling, and carrying of equipment and material weighing up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds)
• and occasionally, lifts or pulls heavy cables and equipment weighing more than 23 kilograms (50 pounds) with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers
• Work aloft on poles, at ground level, and in ground trenches or manholes. Work requires bending, stooping, climbing, and standing for long periods
• Must be able to distinguish colors and shades of colors. At times, works in awkward positions and restricted spaces where coordination of hands, legs, and body are needed to perform tasks
• This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
• Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. This is a Key Position. The duties of this position meet all requirements as a category 4 designation
• and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively
