About the Opportunity

Join our team and work across both our professional training academy, Altruistic Academy, and Altruistic Aesthetics , our dedicated non-student spa.

We are seeking an experienced Electrolysis and Laser Technician who enjoys helping students develop their clinical skills while continuing to provide professional services to private clients.

During scheduled student-spa hours, you will work under the direction of our Director of Education and supervise students as they perform approved electrolysis and laser hair-removal services.

You will also have the optional opportunity to provide professional electrolysis and laser hair-removal services to paying clients through the Altruistic Aesthetics Vagaro booking system during designated non-student clinical hours. Participation in private client services is not mandatory and can be arranged based on your interest and availability. We will manage all appointments, payments, treatment records, packages, and rebooking through our Vagaro account.

This dual-role opportunity is ideal for a skilled professional who wants to mentor future electrologists, maintain an active clinical practice, build client relationships, and earn service commission.

The position will begin part-time, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role based on performance, dependability, student needs, client demand, and Altruistic Aesthetics' continued growth.

Student Spa Responsibilities

• Supervise students during scheduled electrolysis and laser clinical hours.

• Maintain continuous awareness of student activity and client safety.

• Work closely with and under the direction of the Lead Clinical Educator.

• Guide students through consultations, contraindication screening, treatment planning, client preparation, documentation, and aftercare.

• Review student treatment plans and settings before services begin.

• Assist students with probe selection, insertion technique, timing, intensity, skin response, and client comfort.

• Reinforce safe and effective laser and light-based treatment techniques.

• Ensure students follow all sanitation, infection-control, laser-safety, client-privacy, and treatment-room procedures.

• Observe student performance and provide patient, constructive feedback.

• Document student progress, competencies, and areas requiring additional practice.

• Assist with practical evaluations and skills checkoffs when authorized.

• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, equipment, supplies, and student work areas.

• Immediately report adverse reactions, incidents, equipment problems, or unsafe practices.

• Escalate academic, behavioral, and clinical concerns to the Lead Clinical Educator.

• Maintain a calm, professional, organized, and encouraging student-spa environment.

Altruistic Aesthetics Responsibilities

During designated non-student clinical hours, you will:

• Perform professional needle-type electrolysis services.

• Perform professional laser and light-based hair-removal services.

• Conduct thorough client consultations and contraindication screenings.

• Evaluate hair and skin characteristics and create appropriate treatment plans.

• Obtain and document all required client information and consent.

• Select appropriate electrolysis probes, modalities, timing, and intensity.

• Operate only laser and light-based devices for which you have documented training.

• Monitor skin response and client comfort throughout every treatment.

• Maintain complete and accurate treatment records in Vagaro.

• Provide clear pre-treatment and post-treatment instructions.

• Rebook clients and recommend appropriate treatment schedules.

• Deliver a warm, professional, and high-quality client experience.

• Maintain clean, sanitized, stocked, and properly prepared treatment rooms.

• Follow all company policies, physician protocols, and applicable Florida requirements.

• Report adverse reactions, safety concerns, and equipment problems immediately.

Private Altruistic Aesthetics clients will not be scheduled while you are responsible for supervising students.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Florida electrologist license.

• At least three years of professional hair-removal experience.

• Demonstrated hands-on proficiency in both needle-type electrolysis and laser hair removal.

• Legally qualified to perform laser and light-based hair-removal services in Florida.

• Documented training on applicable laser and light-based devices.

• Strong working knowledge of galvanic, thermolysis, and blend electrolysis modalities.

• Strong probe-selection and insertion skills.

• Knowledge of hair growth, skin assessment, contraindications, treatment planning, sanitation, documentation, and aftercare.

• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to skin reactions.

• Ability to supervise and guide students safely, professionally, and patiently.

• Excellent communication, organization, and client-service skills.

• Dependable attendance and professional conduct.

• Ability to meet all applicable requirements for supervising or assisting with student clinical instruction.

• Willingness to provide documentation of applicable licenses, certifications, training, education, and professional experience.

Candidates who perform laser services but cannot independently perform needle-type electrolysis will not qualify for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience performing both electrolysis and laser hair removal.

• Previous teaching, mentoring, training, or clinical-supervision experience.

• Experience supervising students or newly licensed professionals.

• Familiarity with the IBEC examination and Florida electrology curriculum.

• Experience building and retaining an electrolysis and laser client base.

• Experience using Vagaro.

• Current CPR or first-aid certification.

• Bilingual communication skills are a plus but not required.

Compensation

• $21 per hour
  
  
• 15% commission on eligible non-student services personally performed for Altruistic Aesthetics and collected through our Vagaro account
  
  
• Client tips are paid to the technician in accordance with company policy.

• Student-spa services are not commission eligible.

• Commission is calculated from collected service revenue after discounts.

• For packages and prepaid services, commission is earned as each eligible service is performed.

• We will review compensation after 90 days based on clinical performance, dependability, client retention, student support, and business needs.

Schedule and Growth Opportunity

This is an in-person position in Clearwater, Florida. The role will begin part-time, with designated student-spa supervision hours and separate Altruistic Aesthetics client-service hours.

The position may grow into a full-time role based on performance, dependability, student needs, client demand, and Altruistic Aesthetics' continued growth.
