Job Description

The Quality Control Inspector conducts tests to determine quality of raw materials, bulk intermediate, and finished products.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify incoming raw material and products to specifications
• Maintain and update incoming inspection files, procedures, and related required documentation.
• Determine proper product configuration and performance using engineering instructions such as product prints.
• Compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
• Complete dispositions, documents, and reports for purchasing and quality engineers on nonconforming materials.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence or nonconforming product.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Associates Degree and a minimum of two (2) years related quality experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

DESIRED

• ASQ certified Quality Inspector a plus
• Able to read engineering prints and record results and make decisions whether a specification has been met
• Ability to use tools such as calipers and electrical meters to measure dimensions
• Solid computer skills in the basic office suite programs
• Comfortable in a fast-paced atmosphere and detail oriented
• Comfortable using a pallet jack and ability to lift 25- 50 lbs.
• Maintain/Calibrate hand tools and fixtures for production
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) required
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
• Frequently working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
• When outdoors, humidity is frequently above 90%
• Noise is over 85 decibels.
• Light is intense/glare.
• Occasional exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
• Frequent exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
