Supply Management Specialist

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supply Management Specialist in a developmental capacity. This is a developmental position leading to the next position of a Supply Management Specialist, GS-2003-11. Duties and responsibilities of the position are essentially the same as that of the full-performance PD with the exception of additional training, supervision, guidance, and direction necessary until incumbent attains the full-performance level of experience. As level of knowledge and experience increases, level of supervision will decrease accordingly. Incumbent may be promoted to next higher grade without further competition after completion of minimum TIG (Time-in-Grade) requirement, completion of all training as indicated by manager, with recommendation of the supervisor, provided the full-performance position remains as a valid position. Difference in factor levels are provided below.

• Performs developmental assignments of moderately difficult and complex nature consisting of well-precedented tasks designed to orient the employee in the application of supply programs and activities.
• Performs recurring assignments.
• Carries out special projects and participates in special initiatives and studies.
• Prepares written correspondence and other documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
