Safety and Occupational Health Advisor
Duties
Advising on the Safety and Occupational Health Program for Portland District.
Assisting project personnel with implementation of their site-specific Safety and Occupational Health plans and programs.
Advising on safety requirements related to electrical power house, hydroelectric design, and dam safety.
Providing technical assistance with regards to handling and/or disposal of hazardous waste and chemicals.
Auditing worksite safety programs, evaluate effectiveness, identify gaps, report/communicate findings to senior leadership.
Developing and conducting supervisor/employee-level Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) training.
Coordinating Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) training.
Developing safety regulations, guidance, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Conducting worksite inspections through identification of hazards, developing controls to mitigate hazards, and assisting project personnel with implementation of the controls.
Reviewing accident prevention plans, design reviews, and safety submittals.
