Patient Account Representative Heritage Oaks Hospital is part of the UHS Family of Providers which has been highly regarded as an integral part of the greater Sacramento and Northern California mental health system since 1988. Conveniently located in northern Sacramento, Heritage Oaks is a fully accredited, 125-bed acute psychiatric hospital offering a full range of individually tailored treatment services to adolescents, adults, and senior adults, including treatment for substance abuse and chemical dependency issues with drugs and alcohol. Heritage Oaks is a Medicare provider in addition to contracts with most commercial health insurance plans. Heritage Oaks Hospital is currently looking for a full-time Patient Account Representative to join our Business Office Team! The Patient Account Representative is responsible for submittal of electronic and manual billings, account statements, and for follow-up with third-party payers and patients for outstanding balances. This position is also responsible for the preparation of daily cash receipts and maintenance of insurance logs. Prepare and submit insurance billings to primary and secondary payers. Transmit all billings to third-party payers, either manually or electronically as requested. Provide assistance in contacting third-party payers at a 30-day interval after billing to assure that bills have been received and are being processed. Qualifications: Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience in insurance billing is preferred. Any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital business office is required. Experience with billing, computers, and business software programs preferred. Additional Requirements: CPR certification required. May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours. Completion of Handle with Care class within 30 days of employment and prior to participating in a code green is required.
